Obviously not cost effective or necessarily applicable for this purpose, but 3D printing is moving beyond just plastic. One day you might be able to print out your whole AR in properly spec'd materials.

I've heard a couple people saying 3d printers are still too expensive for this. Curious, what is too expensive to you? You can build them for around $1k right now. Within the next couple years that will probably be cut in half. What does a stripped lower go for right now? If you could get the materials for that "600+ round" version they talked about at the end of the video, it's almost to the point you'd be saving money instead of buying lowers.
