As we were loading up the final items for our escape from Larryworld, my wife spotted someone praying for our safe travels...
    We'll miss you my friend.

Piebald at that, very cool picture.

Thank you, sir! Piebald was yesterday. And today I got this one from my window.

While clearing out some dead trees this morning, I apparently evicted a Southern Flying Squirrel. As I was getting read to finish felling a 20' trunk, it emerged from a hole just above my head. It was pretty chill despite me rudely interrupting its sleep. It let me get within 18" for a picture or two. Then it scurried to the top of the trunk and glided away.

Awesom pic. Very cool creatures. That poor fella probably could not see a thing in the bright light of day until its pupils constricted way down. I mean, look at the size of that objective. Holy light gathering batman...

My long range photo of a fox in Potomac isn't nearly as good as an adorable sugar glider.

They are definitely cool critters. A couple of years ago, one glided into the side of the house near the front door and stunned itself. I made it out in time to watch it get up and make a break for the nearest tree.

This one is sticking around the property for now. The dog and I just saw it looking for a new nest in a taller tree. Dog had it treed and you could tell it wasn't used to being out and about in the daylight. It just stayed perfectly still about 15' up until I maneuvered the pup away.

Oriole is from the summer. Pileated a few weeks ago.

Edit: Taken in my backyard. I'm in MoCo but am fortunate that my house backs to Northwest Branch. Great variety of birds come visit the feeders.
