Consider the results of the 2014 Virginia Governor's race:

    Democrat Terry McAuliffe 1,069,859 47.75%
    Republican Ken Cuccinelli 1,013,355 45.23%
    Libertarian Robert Sarvis 146,084 6.52%
    Write-ins 11,091 0.50%

The interesting tactic in the above result was an Obama money bundler was found to have been funding both the democrats as well as Sarvis.

I've reconsidered my vote for Shawn Quinn after researching his campaign a bit more. I'm going to have to vote Hogan.

Cuccinelli has/d no one to blame but HIMSELF for that loss! He could not appeal to enough of the masses to win that election! The votes that went to Sarvis WERE NOT for Cuccinelli to have! Now, if you want to stop this from happening again, how about we go to instant runoff or ranked choice voting where you rank the candidates in your desired order. Here's how it works:

Isn't ranked choice the mess that California has that ended up turning them into a one party state?

My wife (a former delegate) and I voted earlier today at the Carroll County senior center.

    +2 Quinn

And where will Quinn be on November 7th? Picking up yard signs. Hopefully he runs again in 2022. In the Republican primary. Otherwise he fixes nothing. The two party system does suck, but it is what we get. Quinn is who I'd vote for, if it didnt mean I'd get stuck with Jellybean.

I will just leave him blank on the ballot. I am outta here in a couple years. Moving to a better 2A state. Tired of being an ATM and moving target for the Democrats and their constituents.

    Pro-capitalist,
    Pro-2A,
Anti-drug legalization.... no good choices for me. Had to hold my nose and decide.

Sorry to break it to ya, but the war on drugs is an exercise in futility! It has been for EIGHTY-ONE YEARS now and will continue to be! The ONLY way were going to get ANYWHERE close to solving that dilemma is if we decriminalize it and treat it like a medical condition and NOT as a political matter. WE had alcohol prohibition for fourteen years and the murder and mayhem went awry. The same thing has happened with the war on drugs and is ONLY getting worse!

There are FOUR choices on the ballot! The ONLY TRUE pro-gun candidate is Shawn Quinn! If you want your vote to count for something rather than against something worse, Strongly consider Shawn Quinn on Election Day!

    https://www.facebook.com/Quinn4Governor/

    A vote for Quinn ?

    What will it do ?

All it says is “I choose guns!”

Unfortunately for those voters... it will NEVER allow them to say “I chose Maryland’s next Governor.”

Because Quinn cannot win here in this election.

He may be the greatest thing... or not...

But he is an “also ran”.

I must use my vote to block the Socialist. And wasting it on an also ran will never do that in this election.

    Yepper... FOUR choices...

Two with optimal probability of winning,,,

And two “also rans” with no chance in hell.

OK OK OK, people who want to decriminalize drugs ask yourself if you believe unlicensed practitioners should be able to prescribe highly addictive potentially dangerous and deadly drugs to sick patients? When someone is dealing heroin, pills, cocaine and other addictive substance that's exactly what they are doing. chemical overdose is now the leading cause of unnatural death in the United States. Also look at it like this, if a food vendor was selling sandwiches they knew had a high potential of poisoning over 50% of its customers, but continued to sell this deadly food, would you want that person sent to jail? Also, almost all of the deadly addictive substance illigally sold in the US are produced outside of U.S. borders. Draining billions of dollars from the US economy. Also making millions of citizens unproductive members of our society. Its terrorism in its purest form.

If it wasn't for these threads I wouldn't even know Shawn Quinn's name. I'd be willing to bet that 95% of the voters never heard his name and don't have a clue what he stands for. Elections are basically popularity contests. He needs to spend the next 4 years getting his name out there.

The Republican AG candidate in 2014 had the same problem. I voted for him and I don't even remember who he was, all I knew was that he wasn't Frosh.

He also ran in 2014 but since Hogan had no previous record I voted for Hogan.

Unless you are very well off and not an R or D it’s totally grass roots especially after the primaries and it doesn’t help either that you’re not invited to debates, given any press time nor are you even recognized by organizations like the NRA. Not sure if Quinn submitted a questionnaire though.

The NRA doesn't usually submit questionnaires to anyone who's not either a Democrat or a Republican! Did you notice that there were NO non-major-party and/or independent candidates that were surveyed?

Well, big pharma is already doing that with the DOPE that they push through their glorified pill-pushers (often times known as physicians). If I may digress, the medical industry in recent times has become such a joke it's not even funny! Doctors are taught one of two things: either push pills or get surgery done; THAT'S IT!

THE worst branch of the medical field IMNSO is probably that of psychiatry! All most psychiatrists understand is the need to push as many pills as they can - even when those pills don't work! Most of the time, all the meds do is mask symptoms without solving the problems! It's no wonder their 'patients' wind up becoming unglued after awhile!

You speak of 'unlicensing'? Well, what we have under drug prohibition now IS 'unlicensing! These dealers wouldn't be in business if it wasn't for the the illegality of the trade! Gun control doesn't work for guns, just like prohibition doesn't work for drugs; it doesn't work for "illicit sex"; it doesn't work for gambling; and so on!

When you bring the "drug trade" out into the open, you put the dealers out of business and then they have to start getting real jobs! Now tell me; who has more of an incentive to 'push' drugs onto the public? Junior the street corner drug dealer, or the retailer?

chemical overdose is now the leading cause of unnatural death in the United States.

...And again, that is due to the illegality of the substances in question! Something else; did you notice we didn't have quite this problem of an opium epidemic until we started our wars over in the Afghanistan and the like?

Also look at it like this, if a food vendor was selling sandwiches they knew had a high potential of poisoning over 50% of its customers, but continued to sell this deadly food, would you want that person sent to jail? Also, almost all of the deadly addictive substance illegally sold in the US are produced outside of U.S. borders. Draining billions of dollars from the US economy. Also making millions of citizens unproductive members of our society. Its terrorism in its purest form.

...And those individuals who do sell such food should be put away! The same applies to drugs, believe it or not! The street corner drug dealer isn't interested in quality; his sole purpose is to push whatever he can on whomever he can! The drug retailer or smoke shop doesn't have quite that incentive. S/he knows that if s/he sells bad stuff, s/he can face some sort of penalty and be put out of business!

I've tried to stay out of this thread but apparently can't.

I would be more inclined to vote for Quinn if I saw posts and videos of him out campaigning and spending the shoe leather that it would take to compete as a severe underdog instead of posts of him at AGC competing in a club's steel shoot or out at the MGN. Don't get me wrong, I like a candidate that's a true "gun guy" however if you're really serious about winning your time would be much better spent knocking on doors.

I can't vote for a candidate who's not in it to win it.

And I'm not a single issue voter re the guv election, if Jealousy were to win and enact his single payer health plan it would kill my business and force me to pull the MD Eject lever stat.
