I still don't get the small base die thing. I couldn't tell you how many AR barrels I've had, and I've never had one that was unreliable with ammo loaded using regular old Lee, RCBS, Redding, dies.

You can use a bushing die and expand. I do. In fact, they come with one. I prefer the Sinclair mandrels but do use the Lyman M dies too (rather than using the expander in the sizing die).

Using the M die after sizing will keep the I'D of necks consistent. It expands on the upstroke, rather the downstroke. But I make my life even more simple now a days. I buy primed wolf brass and just fill and seat.

Shot a 3x600 today. 594-23x. My first clean at 600.

I've started shooting more and more of the wolf primed brass myself. Some XBR8208 and a Nosler 77 gr and off the range. Seems to be pretty good brass.

Listen to DIST1646. He has vast experience rifle shooting and reloading. There is a difference between a good short range load and a great 600 yard load.

    Good luck
