Is there any real difference in what you consider "contributing nothing" and doing something that has the opposite results of your goal?

40 years of rallies and letter writing and yet here we are about to have our rights stripped a little more ...

What's your breaking point Norton? when will YOU finally come to the same conclusion? When you're standing on your front lawn watching federal agents remove your guns from your home?

Carry rights have been expanded, the 94 awb went away, we've won a bunch of victories in courts. Md put up some more 2a infringements, but overall, the 2a has been winning since about 1990. We suddenly hit a big blue dark spot and you're chicken little. What we've been doing has been working, we just need to do much more now given the political situation we're in. We stopped an awb after sandy hook during Obama. If we push hard enough, we can resist this too.

In 2012 and 2013 Republicans at least had the house. Now the Ds control it all. The only thing to push back with is the unreliable Supreme Court.

i'd unfortunately say Yes. Look at all the restrictions you have in Maryland. VA now lets cities and counties put in more restrictive gun/carry laws, no practical way to legally drive around in VA now. I don't think they're going to come and take them, but they're making it hard enough that less and less will want to use them. We've gone from guns in gun racks in the back of pickups at school, to being banned for eating a poptart in the shape of a gun. Sad.

It is absolutely dead.....as a right.

As a privilege, it still exists.....for now.

And sadly, (firearms owners) are as much to blame as antis, because we are very particular about who should have the right to own and carry, and whether or not they are "good enough" to do so.

The first amendment is shot in the arse. Let's see. What's next in importance??
    Oh, the 2nd !!!

I just don't feel that our voice is important at all anymore. We could vote the bums out but that hasn't been working well anymore , has it.

We can see the current playbook.

Every statement starts with, "No one is taking your guns, all this proposal is........"

They know that they aren't to the point of physically taking them from those that currently have them. There's virtually no one who has the stomach for what that would mean.

Just like the left has patiently consumed our country over generations, they will do the same here.

    1. Steer belief systems of young people away from the concept of gun ownership.
    2. Create a culture that demonizes gun owners as racist, bigoted, uneducated.
    3. Limit opportunities for young people to interact with firearms positively.
    4. Create barriers on the on ramps to new ownership.
    5. Impose higher taxes on ownership.
    6. Create inordinate storage requirements.
    7. Drive gun ranges and clubs out of existence.
    8. Prohibit the transfer of currently owned firearms, particularly intergenerational through wills.

All along, the can honestly say, "no one is coming to take your guns, all this does is....."

So you're happy playing defense all the time...because all of those tiny little victories are exactly that. Those aren't wins....They can be taken away at any time.

A win would be a SCOTUS with balls enough to stand up for the 2A. Go ahead and tell me all about Heller...because that's the only SCOTUS decision that has been a "win" in a long time for the 2A. And even Heller is a hollow win...Yes, you can keep a hand gun....in your home....whoop tee doo..

If Biden wins today you're all going to be shocked at what they have in store for us...

2/3 of Congress proposes a Constitutional amendment. To ratify an amendment 3/4 of states would need to approve. I don't think 38 states would vote to abolish the 2nd amendment.

They’ll Just create more states and add more justices. Problem solved.

How quickly you all forget the Notorious ACB.

And Manchin will not allow the 2A to be destroyed. He already said he won’t be party to the Dumbocrats’ progressive agenda. Now that’s not to say he wont try to compromise, but he won’t let it all go to crap. That I’m sure of.

This is a wake up call though folks, time to be as outspoken and activist as the liberals.

The Dems will go full bore on everything now...the few smart Dems know their overreach will result in a 2022 electoral loss that will return power to the GOP...at least enough to stymie any further damage to the Republic the Dems intend to inflict. They have to pass as much as they can now...the next two years will be tough on freedom and liberty. Once enacted...such onerous laws will be hard to rescind...and that will have to wait until a Republican President takes office again.

Does anyone remember when the democrats had a super-majority in 2008? Yeah, they got soooo much done. While I am disappointed in the outcome of the federal elections, our focus should be on what will be coming in the MGA this year. Let the feds blither and blunder, we should be concentrating on making life as uncomfortable as possible for lawmakers in our own state.

The democrats learned long ago to promote their agenda from the bottom-up. They worked to undermine the foundations of government at the local level and promoted fear in the weak minds of the political class. We are capable of the same.

In 2008 the Dems weren't run by the far-Left whackos as they are now...at least not to the degree they are now. We have "The Squad" and others calling the shots and pushing an agenda that wouldn't have flown in '08.

It depends on the courts and then it depends on the people. If the SC remains intact, the pres/congress can try pushing infringements, but the SC should strike them down. If the SC is compromised by court stacking, it should be a red line crossed to bring Americans off the bench.

When the Demoncrats add a couple of three seats to the SC and confirm liberal justices then the SC will be irrelevant.

It is difficult to change an organization or system while standing outside casting stones, yelling statements and generally being a pest. If you want to change an organization or system you need to do it from within.

This means get involved directly in politics and possibly get elected to a local, state or federal office.
