gall dang that is nice. I have a Vortex rimfire as well and you cant beat it!

I purchased a Vortex Diamondback 2-7 rimfire for my 10/22 in February and I am enjoying it. I don't know that the quality could really be improved upon, but it is a little heavy.
If I had it to do over again, I might go for a Weaver or Leupold fixed 4 power. I seem to keep my variable scope on 4 power with the 10/22 anyway.
All 3 can be found in your price range on Amazon by searching the brand followed by "rimfire."
That being said, the Nikon will probably serve you fine!
