Except that the MGA will come up with these laws regardless of whether Hogan asks for it or not. They simply don’t care. Do you think they give of crap what he asks for or doesn’t? They’ve overridden EVERY one of his vetoes.
Do I wish he would stand up for gun owners and fight the MGA on every gun law? Absolutely.
I’m not sure we will EVER have a governor who would do that unless he lies about his position. He would never get elected in the first place.

It's not Hogan we need to deal with, it is MGA. And we need to line up a person to replace Hogan. I like Craig Wolf. The question is will he run?

    And who “loves” Hogan? :sad20:

I don’t believe anyone here does. I’ve said several times that I don’t care for his politics on the subject of 2A. But that the idea of seeing socialism take a win in this state was a much worse problem.

Let’s see how this session ends , maybe hogan won’t give more free shit away , and maybe he will cut off welfare and Baltimore’s free ride and maybe he will give us some of our rights back

If not I will see no difference in either of last years two main stream candidates

Craig would be awesome, but I'm frankly disappointed at how poorly he showed against the Baron. We need someone who is both a conservative and who has some name recognition.... and no, I've no idea who that might be.

As stated by Hogan, the Demwits bring out of state money into the elections. Until we do this, our side is going to be playing to a deep handicap during any election cycle. It amazes me how the Demwits can find millions of dollars and our side gets squat from their supporters.

There's many reason why we lost so many seats in the MGA, one is the Demwit's unfathomable hate for President Trump. This played very well with the minions in the state. Secondly, it would seem that many Republicans KNEW they were going to lose, so after receiving their party's nod, they kinda gave up and were satisfied with knowing they at least got to the general election. Third and I think is the most frightening reason, gerrymandering and it's obvious stacking of the deck against Republicans. It was almost an insurmountable task to beat the Demwits with the districts drawn as they were. However there were a few Republicans that should have won. Glen Glass and Deb Rey and 2 that come to mind.

Hogan had a chance last year to open his giant war chest and to campaign for and fund down ticket candidates but he did as little as he possibly could.
We can all see how that worked out for the republicans in md, yay hogan

    Hogan mattered then and now.

Being a willing ally to mike and mike just emboldens them to stick it in is farther each session

The ONE thing I'd like to see this coming year is national republicans taking a bite out of Hogan EVERY TIME he sides with the Demwits. I mean EVERY TIME. He should be shamed for his signing of HB 1302 and should be reminded of it at every possible chance. If he wants a seat in congress, he's going to have to account for his transgressions. If he doesn't, then he should be screwed to the wall by every Republican in the state AND Washington DC. It's now time to hold his feet to the fire.

Craig would be awesome, but I'm frankly disappointed at how poorly he showed against the Baron.

He got 35% of the vote.

    This is Maryland.

Wolf garnered 799,035 votes. Frosh got 1,474,873.

Hogan got 1,275,644. Jealous got 1,002,639. Others got 26,279.

The race for governor had 28,774 more votes than the race for AG.

My conclusion is that Frosh was elected because of the "D" after his name. Had Wolf been supported by Hogan, and given a suitable media push, he might have done better. Would he have won? Probably not. The contentious political arena brought voters out of their safe spaces to vote against their freedom.

Interestingly, in the 2014 AG race:

    Frosh 935,846 (55.8%)
    Pritzger 682,265 (40.7%)
    Other 59,158 (3.5%)

In a race with little interest in the AG office, Pritzger got a rather higher percentage of votes, though the turnout was smaller.

In 2014, Hogan got 51% of the total vote; in 2018 he got 55.4%.

So wouldn't you say this is the time to start planning, raising funds, and campaigning for the seat? Again the question is will Craig Wolf run?

If Trump is re-elected, won't be anyway for another (R) being elected Gov or AG.

But: Libs might take a chance on Rutherford because of Hogan and a chance to do something historic in MD.

I think Wolf would be a good candidate.
First hurdle will be getting past the MDGOP, I imagine that Hogan's historic win has greatly turned them off to a right of center candidate. They care about Party, not principle.

2nd even larger hurdle will be beating Frosh.

Not seeing the difference between a fence riding Repub who is trying to remain viable in a 70% Dem controlled state... and an avowed Socialist who wanted to take us WAY left of even the Dems... is a HUGE problem. :sad20:

I can see the difference... It is a clear and present danger.

And for that... I have been told that I voted to take peoples rights away. :mad54:

    ABSOLUTELY FALSE...

Hogans a lame duck, he no longer needs to stay viable for re-election so if he continues to be anti gun and if he talks of free college and continues to fund Baltimore then he’s no different him and bj that I can see

Or he could stand up for our rights and try and get bloodymore straight and push back against the 1302 confiscation law and the bump stock confiscation law

    Which is more likely

Hogan has no political chances in this state unless he switches the letter after his name, which he might as well do. And to say there is no difference between him and jealous isn't completely wrong there just isn't a lot of difference. hogan might not push AS hard as jealous but with the state being even more blue and hogan doing nothing for down ticket candidates the future is going to be similar. Will just take a few years longer but then again hogan might switch his letter and get us there anyway.

Anyone not seeing a difference in Jealous and Hogan must not have been paying much attention. I take it those who see no difference would liken Hogan to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as well.

Frosh has always been an elected thug. He abuses his powers in ever position he takes. He can’t go away fast enough.
He spues out exactly what the whacky liberals love to hear. He knows it and using it to his advantage.

Saw this nationally syndicated cartoon this morning. I thought I'd share; there IS some awareness building it seems.
