"Senate President Pro Tem Nathaniel McFadden, a Democrat who represents East Baltimore said that this bill is not perfect, but he thinks it will help stop gun violence in Baltimore City."

Ummm the only way to prevent gun violence in Baltimore city, is remove the people who live in Baltimore City.

So what happens later when we look ahead 5 years and there are still the same number of gun murders in urban areas. I'm sure they will find something else to ban or perhaps one day they can get their heads out of their asses.

Looking at that list pretty much confirms that as long as Baltimore, PG, and Monkey counties stick together, they get whatever they want - F the rest of the state. Even if the Baltimore County Senators would have been "No's" it still would have been 23-24 for the bill (if my math is correct.) So all those three delegations need is one extra person, Miller, to give them the edge.

This is how the deck is stacked in this state.

Letter I sent to Senator Brochin.

Here is an email I sent to Brochin's office. Just want to let him know how pissed off I am. Not that it matters at this point but it made me feel better.

First of all I would like to say I am republican but I did vote for Mr. Brochin in the last election (the only democrat I ever voted for) and boy am I regretting that decision. I apparently fell for his act of caring about his constituents. It must have been an act because anyone who cared would not totally disregard our right to defend ourselves and would have defended something that is a right not a privilege. So one can only assume he is out for his own political career. However, here is what I can promise you ....since the bill will likely pass the house as well I will never buy another gun as long as I live in this state so all the money I was saving to buy a new gun I will now donate to anyone who is running against Mr. Brochin and I will actively help anyone campaign against him. I'm sure you are all counting on the short memories of the people and hoping they forget before the next election but I can guarantee that won't happen in this case. Mr. Brochin has taken an oath to defend the constitution and apparently that oath means nothing to him. I hope he enjoys the rest of his time as a senator and I can only hope the next election will put him out of a job.

That's when they ban all handguns,

The banning all handguns ship has sailed thanks to the Heller decision. Handguns are a protected class of firearms. What they could try is to enact onerous restrictions that make it extremely difficult to get a new handgun. Also, unless a few more SCOTUS cases go our way, they could try to further limit transportation and possession outside of the home and make "safe storage" requirements that would render them all but unusable in an emergency inside the home.

The dick thing about it is that we KNOW that the Dems who voted against it only did so after they were certain it would pass so that they would have some political cover.

I called Dyson's office to urge him to vote against the bill and was told he would vote against the bill. I see that I was told the truth.

Oh no you don't! Keep em where they damn well are.

Or do as the British did, send the criminals to Australia. Entirely sad that the vast majority of Maryland's land mass and population has to be subjected to this BS because of a bunch of criminals in Baltimore City and a Baltimore City police department and Baltimore City Maybe that cannot deal with crime. O'Malley couldn't fix it while he was the Mayor either.
