Here are my new two M1 Carbines from the CMP auction. Overall both rifles look great and I'm pleased with the results. One is WWII with an Underwood barrel dated 10-43. The other is a post war. The stocks, barrels and actions feel great and smooth. I can't wait to go out this weekend to shoot these babies. How did I do?

Nice carbines! The one with the Underwood barrel has several early parts and may have some collector value. Don't find them that often with the early parts. Looks to be a NPM receiver so the Underwood barrel may be correct. Do the stocks have any cartouches?

The WWII Era M1 Carbine has a Winchester dark walnut stock. You can barely see the cartouche from this picture.

What's the "post-war" receiver? That's a Marlin barrel on it so it might be Standard Products? Not a very common one if so. The Marlin barrels were not the best so it'll be interesting to see how it performs.

The Postal Meter is pretty cool that it's still in original configuration. Worth tearing down to get a parts list, it may be more correct than you think.

The underwood barrel one is very nice! It still has the flip-up rear sight, push safety, push magazine release, and no bayonet lug. This means it was not reworked at the armory like most m1s were. That one is considerably more desirable than the other. Great find!
