one in chamber illegal even w/ md ccw?

i've recieved conflicting information from diffrent MD CCW (wear and carry) instructors.

one says it's illegal to carry with a round in the chamber even w/ a wear and carry permit. the other says it's not illegal.

i couldn't find a law clearly stating either one, so i sent an email to the MDSP. i've recieved no reply as of about a week into the email being sent.. .so.. here we are...

It’s perfectly legal. And it doesn’t make much sense to carry any other way.

What’s the point of carrying a gun without one in the chamber?

If you just want to be cool just buy a Ed hardy shirt and gel your hair and get a cross necklace

That instructor that said illegal needs to stop instructing. That makes no sense at all.

I don't have a CCW, but this is why I would carry my revolver empty.

No offense, but whomever gave you this info is stupid and should not be teaching self-defense of ANY kind. Call MSP if you have a question.

this came up actually! I asked, "if thats the law.. how do you do that with a revolver?"

"5 rounds in a 6 cylinder revolver, resting on the empty chamber"

maybe he was anti semi automatic??
