I bought this rifle about 15 years ago out in western PA for $135. It is one of the most accurate .22 rifles I have. Serial number is in the 12K range stamped on the rear edge of the receiver. It has two firing pins in the bolt. Marked for .22 short, .22 long, and .22 Long Rifle. The magazine has a screw that you can insert to use the smaller .22 rounds. Nice Schnabal stock.

Anyone else have one of these little gems?

I have one. It got reworked early in its life with a redfield peep sight. Accurate for sure. The magazine can be problematic if the feed lips get at all tweaked, aftermarket ones are junk.

Yes and no. I have the 22 hornet version of this design. I have fired one like yours at informal 22 competition and this I could have done better with it than mine. I think the feels better shooting than it looks. Really come to should beautifully. Guess they got the geometry right on this one. I second please post pictures.

I have the 1922 version. Barrel has been shortened 2 inches, but well done. Serial number is 15735, also on the back edge of the receiver. Has a crappy trigger pull, but it is quite accurate.

-Maybe I'm off in the weeds but are we talking about the Savage model 23A Sporter .22 bolt action rifle? It's got a Schnabel tipped stock as the OP described. The design was later "stretched" into the 23D for .22 Hornet, the 23C for .32-20 and 23B for .25-20. My apologies if I'm wrong.
