Yup. Odds are about 10:1 the decision gets overturned. All it generally does is drag it out 3-6 months.

While wars are not won or lost based on handguns (or rifles anymore, really), I'm just glad they are getting rid of their aging M9s.

Pretty much SOP on govt contracts

This. I don't think Glock actually expects anything to change. These huge contracts are always protested for future contracts. Essentially, the government will tell Glock to let this go, and they'll get a nice contract for something else down the road. Happens all the time.

In a few cases, there have been changes made. Boeing protested Northrup winning the next gen aerial refueling program then after the protest I think Northrop dropped out. Boeing now has the contract. Either way, lawyers definitely made their money contesting that contract.

It all depends on whether the agency screwed anything up in the process of issuing the procurement award. The FAR is an exacting set of rules, and it's not difficult to screw things up.

Given the potential upside to Glock if they can get the contract set aside, the attorney fees are a small investment for a non-zero chance at a BIG win.
