You would be surprised. Even the most fakey of fake news orgs will have the other side on if they are there which is why it is important to have the other side represented if for no other reason than to choke off some of the time given to the antis.

Yup. The Media thrives on controversy. If they pretend there's only one side to the argument, then there's no controversy, and nothing worth airing, and therefore no advertising revenue to be gained from the issue.

Of course, that doesn't mean they will cover both sides fairly, or not do it in a way that biases the viewers toward one side.

What the media will do and has done is give airtime to anointed victims and "experts" regarding violence and show the pro-gun side as a bunch of simpletons and radicals. If one guy is wearing cammies and has patches and buttons saying "I'd Rather Be Killing Communists" or similar will be shown front and center as the "average" gun owner. The pro-gun side could have a crowd in the thousands and the media will only show a tight shot of a few...not the entire crowd.

I've seen it happen and have testified at the MGA and seen how the media gives the pro-freedom side the bums rush.

NRA-ILA is about to issue an alert for a call-out of pro-2A folks to appear at the hearing, and outside; if you go you will be among friends.

Dick Heller will be there!

This is an excellent chance to state your pro-Second Amendment case there, this time to the national news media, which will make this a top story.

Your sound bite offered there will be much more effective and be heard nationwide, even better than telling it to all your friends here. We already agree with you.

The Rayburn Building is a public building. So you can go in to use the restroom after going through check point just let them know you are here to see whatever rep sits in the building. Find out what rep you want to go see in the building and then find a restroom. I would advise you to bring a jacket or sweatshirt to cover any type of political speech since protests in the building are frowned upon.

They always have the anti-gun people go first. Then the media will often leave so they can get the video back to the office and edited for the early news...and then the pro-gun side doesn't get seen by the public unless they're actually there.

And yes...it's a "reality show" that has little to do with reality.
