There was a great seminar on the CMP on Sunday morning at the annual meeting. Touched on the implications of the wording concerning the release of the 1911s by the U.S. Army to the CMP. Each year the number of pistols to be released can be revisited as well as the conditions concerning the release. The thought is that a Democratic controlled Congress could revise the current statute and order the guns destroyed. At this point, we know 8000 will be released, most of which have been restored by the US Army Anniston Depot and appear to be 1970-1980 issue. The earlier years have been pulled for auction.
