Picked mine up yesterday and decided to give her a test run in the IWB holster I got. The 1911 sure is a comfy carry and it seems to fit me right instead of having to adjust it when I sit back in a chair or something. Congrats on your new lovely DD.:)

    What IWB are you using?

    I picked this one:http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterG3.asp?ProductID=905&GunID=183

It was a good choice as it is very comfortable with the 1911. I like it enough that it is going to replace the don hume I have for the G27. I almost lost my G27 the other day when the belt clip came out and the pistol slipped out of my pants as I was exiting a vehicle. It would have been quite obvious what I was doing when I had to get it secured again, I am switching to something that secures to my belt a little better.

Very nice DD! My Kimber arrived at Corsica Coatings today, unfortunately I can not pick it up until March 15th or later thanks to our wonderful one-gun-per-month crap :sad20:

That sucks. Time to fill out your Designated Collector paperwork!

Make sure you update this thread once you get it. And I hope you have better luck taking a photograph of "black stainless". I took probably 50 photos, but I just couldn't capture the finish as it looks in real life. It really is a beautiful finish and you are going to love it, no doubt.

Yeah, I sent in my collector's paperwork about 3 weeks ago, no response yet. Looks like i won't get it back in time to effect this purchase

I've noticed that there aren't many really good clear photos of either black/stainless gun. I think the problem is the stainless finish reflects the light and the black matte finish absorbs the light. So probably the best photo would be without a flash, maybe outside in daylight. I'll see what I can come up with. I've heard that they are breathtaking in-person. Can't wait to check it out.
