And if they get banned for sale in Marylandstan those same thugs will be standing in line at the local gun shops and shows in Pennsylvania Delaware Virginia and West Virginia and bringing them back into maryland. It's not going to change a damn thing. The only people that will be negatively impacted are those who are currently in possession..

Thing is, at this point, felons are still prohibited from possession, and 80% dealers are some of the most vocal 2A proponents out there. If that dealer in Gettysburg is who I think it is, he has given a lot of tips to police, as have others to actually enforce laws and catch criminals, while 99% of everything he sells goes to law abiding hobbyists with little to no hassle. IMO that is how it should be for ALL firearms. Of course the vast majority of firearms possesses by criminals were stolen serialized firearms, and broke probably a hundred gun laws, the few 80% builds recovered from criminals probably resulted in MORE laws being broken and ignored than if they were serialized, being all the other theft/possession charges still apply, but good chance there are manufacturing and possession of parts charges on top of it.

While that's all good, the State's Attorney and prosecutor has to be willing to charge the perp and follow through with a trial...instead they give up plea deals or worse drop charges altogether.

They aren't trying to ban 80 %s to stop crime, they are trying to ban them like they are trying to ban as many other firearms as they can...to force law abiding citizens to disarm...it's easier to control an unarmed population...
