The next “local” show I’m aware of is a C&E Gun Shows event on January 5, 6 & 7, 2007 at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA.

    In Maryland,

the first Silverado Gun Show of 2007 is to be held at the Carroll County Agricultural Center on January 13 & 14, 2007. (I understand this replaces the Camrod show held there in previous years)

There is an Appalachian Promotions show on January 20 & 21, 2007 at the Carlisle Expo Center in Carlisle, PA

and then the next Silverado show is

Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro on February 17 & 18.

Anybody else know of any Maryland Shows?

I think I'll plan on going to the Dulles show. I've missed the last two.

Are SGS shows any good? I'm thinking about going to the one coming up in Westminster. I'm a gun show noob, only ever gone to one (years ago).

If you ask me, I would tell you they are a waste of the $7 it costs to get in the front door. The prices arent any better than you would find anywhere else, sometimes worse.

If you go there with the mindset that it is a "show" and not a shopping spree, you could enjoy it. It's a good chance to get to handle a bunch of different firearms and accesories, and to compare dealers.

I've bought two guns at shows; one an sks for $100 (great deal!) and the other was my Marlin model 25, 22lr bolt rifle for $90 (another great deal) You can find deal on used guns once in a while if you look hard enough.
