I can't find 458 WinMag brass and I'm not paying $120 for 20 rounds of ammunition. So I find out that cabela's has Herter's 300 WinMag ammunition for $1.20 per round. I picked up 120 rounds of ammunition and I'm going to fireform them to 458. Let's see if this works. Going to the range on Monday to start the experiment.

if you do FB once in a while (like me) Check out Mark Jackson ( The Handloading Center (group) ) He had a "bunch" 458 WM stuff brass, bullets
that he's selling from his Grandpa.... he may still have it or some. I had to pass on it, had other things arriving, was not really "needed"
I run across all kinds of brass in my travels, (no I don't sell it) odd ball stuff, last bunch was 22 Hornet (New), 45 Win Mag.(New)...etc.

I am pretty sure I have some .458 Brass that I loaded then pulled the bullets. If you are interested I'll see how much I have.

    Let me know.

Pull the bullets and fireform with 10 grains of bullseye, fill case with corn meal and cap with a drop or two of Bordens white glue.

If you shoot the high pressure rounds, the case may split.

I tried this anyway just to see what happens. I got one good case and split two. So, I'm going to go ahead and shoot the rest out of my Remington and anneal the brass. Then I'll do it properly. Sadly, no Bullseye to be found near me, and I'm not ordering one pound of powder.

You can use any fast powder. Red dot, Clays, AA#2 , Clay Dot, Titewad, Hi
Skor 700X they will all work.
