Sling for K98.

I ordered one of these not too long ago to put on my '45 K98.

A bit pricey, but that's the toughest damn leather I ever saw in my life. Putting that on was a bitch at room temperature, let alone on a 10 degree day in the Alps while tryin' to hold off the Russkies. :shocked4:

Nice looking leather sling for sure. Just a bit pricey for my budget. I really want a K98 though! Sweet rifles.

And the insides of 'em are stamped "1943" with German markings.

The only issue I had is havin' to file the sides of the keeper down a bit so it would fit the notch in the stock right.

How much slack will it give ? Enough to sling over your shoulder ? Took the sling off mine cause it was useless , snug to her could barely get my hand thru it to hold it

About 2', I reckon.

I keep the buckle near the end so's the loose section ain't flappin'. I hate that.

I just looked. The ones on his site are M48's, which are Yugos. He may still be able to fetch ya a German one though.

I prefer to use real military surplus that have that been there done that look.
I put Israeli surplus K98 slings on mine. They used to be easy to find but still show up on e-bay for around $30 and are better than repops IMO.

The Oaks gun show had several. One guy had a beautiful '43 for $600.
