It's time we called their bluff (or their stupidity) on this one. Let it happen. Better yet, hire a fresh batch of well-indoctrinated gender studies majors. While we're at it, send in those same grads to respond to domestic calls. We have to let them fail, so they can learn.

There is some rumor that the County Council wants to allow citizens to enforce traffic laws? Be able to issue citations? Imagine all the Karens patrolling the roads!

I will tell you this, draw your own conclusions. If the officer feels the stop is likely to end in a complaint there is a 100% chance a citation will be issued as justification for the stop.

If the officer believes the stop isn’t likely to result in a complaint the officer is more willing to issue a warning either written or verbal.

The day of the verbal warning should of died fir any cop with job preservation in their mind.

Did you read the paper? I think it counters what most guys would believe.
We get like four envelopes a year here and I always blame my wife. Unfortunately she has a calendar where she was, so I can't get off the hook.

First warning ever had, was pulled over for rolling through a stop sign about 4 years ago. I lost my license twice when in my 20's, so I really don't believe in the myth white guys get less traffic stops.. :D
What was wild, I had a string once of six moving violations and they were all different charges.

Wait until some citizen pulls over a Karen and instead of citing her he he rapes her.

Who will be the first citizen enforcer to put lights and a siren on their car?

It will be fun watching what the courts do. People cited for violations that don't exist in the, law he was playing his radio too loud. Karen testifying from memory "I think it was the 15th or maybe the 16th we were on you know the road that goes past the cute little boutique somewhere between the Walmart and the Giant." the speed limit is 25 and I was doing 20, because I just got a call on my cell phone and I always slow down when I drive with one hand, and he passed me so he must have been speeding.

    1. I probably wouldn't be able to understand one of them if I got pulled over. 2. I am not paying a fine issued by a non-sworn officer 3. Right, like MS-13 and other gangs down there wont start "charging" people fines as they drive through their areas.

I'm going to use my own self service application and write me, my ticket. This way I can control my cause and effects professionally and personally. The whole thing is just ridiculous.

And if you don't show up on your court date, all charges will be dropped. ;)

True but that means you voluntarily pulled over for Karen in the first place. I’ll take “Things I’ll never do” for $1,000 please Alex

Sounds like an opportunity for some enterprising and scantily-clad young ladies. They could set up a "speed trap." I'll bet Miss Migraine and her college friends could clear their tuition bills in a couple of weeks.

    Citizens enforce traffic laws?????

Will still need the police, because incidences of Road Rage will go WAY up....
Worst case of RR I ever encountered was by a MoCo plain clothes. He was insane! First, he tried to make me ram him from behind, and when I was able to stop and not hit him, he still accused me of tailgating him because he ran a red light, which he said he didn't. I never accused him of running a red light in the first place. The A-hole was ready to blow a gasket.

*****Please tell me after doing some juggling and perhaps using a crafty and creative limerick or two that you had him calmed down, and you were both sharing a beer you happened to have under your drivers seat!

Sometimes people are just having a bad day, and it takes a bit of time to calm down. Luckily it was a police officer and not a judge at your sentencing hearing for being caught operating as an unregistered comedian. Death row for that would have *sucked*... Sure, there's surprise morning sex to look forward to - unfortunately it's in prison.....:shocking:

There is some kind of online meeting tonight about it.

I lived in Minnesota when Rudy Perpich was governer. He was known for making citizen's arrests on speeders!!! There's no way this can be enforced

So what are the civilian enforcers going to do to stop the "violator"?

IF this were to become law, it would only serve to enrich attorneys, as they are hired to decimate Traffic Enforcement Karen in the court of law. "So Karen, when was the last time that your speedometer was calibrated?" "Do you have a record of the calibration?" "How long did you pace my client for?", etc.

More likely, especially in MoCo, they will increase automated enforcement with more speed and red light camera, increased fines, etc.

We all knew the speed camera limitations would slowly, over time, morph into a genuine horror story. You know, it's easier to slow cook a rabbit than to force him into a pot of boiling water...
