    Just acquired this 1911 from a regular customer + 500rds surplus .45ACP $250.
    :)
    Their is no name on the slide... curious. There are many markings and cartouches on various parts just curious if this was a home build or some gov issue???

    Proof marks
    "P" left side frame under mag release button
    "P" top of slide in front of rear sight
    "P" left side barrel link guide
    "HS" right side barrel link guide – HS = High Standard 45 acp barrel for a colt 1911 pistol. These were contract barrels made for Ithaca, Remington and Union Switch & Signal
    Flaming bomb under firing pin stop
    Flaming bomb frame under barrel
    “0” right side front trigger guard
    FJA left side above/behind trigger  "Col Frank J. Atwood” small arms inspector at Ithaca and Remington-Rand (at different periods.)
    Bluing on slide and frame 98%+
    Mother of Pearl grips with eagle grasping snake in beak - yes I know what Gen. Patton said about pearl grips :-)
    Slight rust on frame under grips
    No markings of name of Manuf.???
