Here's a new one for yah, or not... I went into an antiques store today, and found this. My question is; Do I have something? If so, what's it worth? The owner said it was a cadets sword, from the turn of the 19th. century (1880-1905) Anyone????

I found some more info on it. It's an officer's saber. The handle appears to be black horn, which means it's an early model 1902.

Dude, sweet blade - you're going to need a back lit weapons display case given the different directions that you're diversifying. Can't help with the historical weapons appraising/background info - but hopefully WeaponsCollector or another aficionado will chime in.

Nice looking knife. Wouldn't want that to accidentally open in one's pocket. Ouch.

Btw, is the background table really that purple, or is this an exposure issue? Got a feeling that smokering followed up in part as he had a rich blue background behind his Kershaw.

There seem to be plenty of images that come up in Google under "1902 officer's sword", and they look (to my untrained eye) just like yours.

New ESEEs (an ESEE-3 and IZULA-II) and in the middle a Ka-Bar BK14 (Becker designed) also known as an EsKabar (= ESSE + Ka-Bar collaboration). A Spyderco Delica included in one shot for size comparison.

A Damascus blade addition (knife on top). Putatively made in the US, but wouldn't be surprised if mostly made overseas. Came extremely sharp. Already cut myself when removing from behind my back when in the horizontal leather belt sheath.
