    Hi All! I'm doing my first deer hunt with the DNR later this month at Blackwater Refuge. There aren't a lot of campgrounds around there, so I'm looking for someone who has land and would be willing to let me and a buddy setup camp (tents) for a couple nights over two weekends. I have a chemical toilet so it'll be truly leave no trace.

    Don't want to hunt the land, just stay there.

    Happy to pay for right to stay.

    One problem with finding tent camping "Down Below" is that the water commonly inundates what seems to be about 90% of the place, either by the least amount of rain standing where it falls, or by flood tides.These conditions can be combined. Water from just the high tides was up on the road just south of the main portion of Blackwater Saturday and it happens a lot.

    At the link below, the upper right tide table is for the research station at Bishops Head, the point on the peninsula that much of Blackwater is on. You can get a feel for how it will be in Blackwater, but note that the time lags by a couple hours.
