The only job that I want is Casino Owner!

Just buy some stocks and you can own a piece of it.

I in IL one particular casino was funded with bonds. Those that bought them got rich quick. And in MS some of the cotton field owner made out some huge sums of money and still reap a percentage.

I cannot provide any details other than between now and 10/5 MGM at National Harbor is actively seeking resumes for "unlimited career opportunities" and particularly in food & beverage, gaming, hospitality, etc.

Suggest any interested be pro-active in contacting MGM for more info.

    Best of Success!

I wish my skills I have acquired over 20 years of teaching was recognized for jobs outside of education.......

I'd throw my hat in for the investigator job but I can compete with Blasters resume :sad20:

I would hope those jobs would be high paying.

You be surprised how many people in the casino business come from different backgrounds. I knew a AF F-16 pilot who was a dealer in MS. I was like WTF! What are you doing out of the AF? He said once you make the rank you no longer fly and sit behind the desk. So he left the AF.

We did see a lot of teachers who would work part-time and then come the summer months they would work full-time.

I would eat the bill for 18 credits and get a second master's in HR. There's money in that field now, and teachers know how to deal with people.

I'm actually looking at a second master's in something now. The one I have in Management with an IT concentration ain't doing much. People in the IT field don't seem to be fond of older guys, and they darn sure aren't fond of older guys without formal certs and a lot of experience. It's just not like the UMUC commercials where you graduate and are running a Fortune 500. :)

Lol. I work for UMUC and change the channel whenever I see a commercial starting. If you wanna talk to someone that's actually competent and won't jerk you around I can refer you to a couple people.

Grand Opening Dec 8th. Casino opens Dec 10th.

It'll be a traffic nightmare. Under O'Malley, the state pissed away the money allocated to expand 210. And while MGM managed to build the whole casino in 2 years, the state only now started to do the required infrastructure work.

What 210 got to do with it?

210 been a mess way before nat harbor..

Access to nat harbor and MGM are mostly from the 295 and beltway..

Plus the ramp off the beginning of 210 at the access via 414.

You are adding 4000 employees in a single spot, a location without rapid transit access. The only saving grace is going to be that most of them don't work regular 9-5 schedules. The real fun are going to be events in the 3000seat venue.

Out of curiosity what is a table games supervisor salary be with over 10 years experience? Just like to know?

Believe it or not dealers at busy casinos typically make more than supervisors. Some are known as "dual rate" supervisors and get compensated similar to dealers.

Dealers at a busy casino will make 60ish per year from what I understand.

Lol... Total.employee probably.. not all will be working the same time!! This is MD not Vegas. ;)

210 ramp and oxon hill are mostly for locals.. and the tanger outlets..

Most enters from the highways. (At least how I would go)
