    I posted this in Rifles, and a more experienced board member I know suggested this as a better location...

    Just prior to FSA 2013 I transferred an AR with Vietnam era upper to a buddy. He's since installed a heavy bbl upper on it. And now, he'd be willing to sell it back to me.
    Given that it has the heavy barrel on it, would this be something we could do?
    Would we be able to transfer it as any other long gun, or should / required to go thru a dealer? Or still do a 77r but indicating the heavy bbl upper?
    Or is it just not possible?
