    For range and non defense functions... I like the style and looks of the 1911 platform. But, for a SDCW... I think a utilitarian style pistol with greater reliability and less external bells and whistles is a better/more practical choice.

    gotcha. i hear people say not to carry an expensive gun as it may sit in lockup during the investigation and that folks may not want that kinda money tied up for who knows how long. thought that is what you were saying.

    people should carry what works, and if it saves your life but stays in lockup, who cares, the cost was well worth it.
