Did they try to pee on the attackers? That and throwing up on them seems to be the Liberals preferred method of defense.

Yup. That happens a bit in B-more. My neighborhood is better in terms of crime levels but it still happens nearby. Sadly many of those who are targeted are female and/or elderly. The criminals do atrocious things to these people sometimes. I really want these people to have access to an effective home defense tool.
Besides being unconstitutional, I have serious problems when I see the logistical reality of SB281 as applied to many of these people. Many have been law abiding, have worked hard all their lives for the little they have. They can be without a car and on a fixed income. I can't imagine these people paying all the money and doing the training requirements that the bill requires. There is no gun range within the city limits as far as I know. I guess they could take the light rail to Continental Arms but again many of these people are elderly and it would be very difficult for them. Plus I don't think one is allowed to transport firearms on public transportation. Of all people, I think these are the people that would be most affected by these stupid requirements.

One of the defendants out on bail, released 1/21/2013, case pending

And awaiting trial on another case:

In court today on an unrelated charge:

    Released on bail 1/9/2013

    Assault case last year

There are plenty more. Mostly drug possession, but we want to change that to a civil penalty, not a criminal offense, right?
And if he had his firearms license he would NEVER have done this and we have have saved one life.

Interesting the article pointed out that the victim had no criminal record....Did anyone check to see if the perps had a criminal record? Makes no sense..

OK I couldn't stop myself from looking. Here are a few highlights from the other accused:

Too bad he couldn't have taken two criminals off the streets permanently, since the courts didn't want to do it.

Would you care to comment on this Mr. Frosh?

Unfortunately, his comment would be that the perps probably got their guns through illegal straw purchases that would have been stopped by their licensing law....:sad20:

Then for good measure he might say that this could have all ended peacefully if the victims hadn't fought back and just complied... :mad54:

    Horrible story...
