Went up this afternoon, picked up a G22 mag and a tool box from SCSG for a good price, a NOS WW2 German Gas Mask filter for a gas mask that I have and a like new 4X Leopold pistol scope, with mounts for $150 from "Ed".
Overall it was worth the trip.

Went over on Saturday and it was crowded, but it wouldn't have been so bad if the aisles were wider, if someone stopped at the tables opposite each other the lane as nearly blocked. What is with the backpacks, did people hike to the show? I was bumping and stopping and bumping all through the show and just called it quits. I did talk to B at SCSG and will go to the shop this week, wish I had called him and missed the show.

Yes, this iteration of the show was not the best example, but I hope people don't write of the York show completely. I've thoroughly enjoyed it in the past, and walked out with new (to me, at least) firearms a time or two. I certainly do not regret going Saturday, and will definitely try to make the next one. Maybe the weather will be nice and people will be doing other things ;)

I was there on Saturday morning. We arrived at about 8:40am and were about 75 back in line. Had no problem once it opened @ 9:00am and did the whole show by 10:30. There was a line to get in when we left @ 10:30. I did see the Ruger PC Carbine priced @ $699! That is insane being MSRP is $649???

You saw Mitch (the son) from gunboards. If you had a chance to look closely at his stuff and get him to talk about them it was really amazing the Mosins he had. The early turn of the century Mosin Carbine was really rare to see. Not that I am an expert but I had never heard of it.

I did have a chance to talk to him for a moment about the Mosins for a very brief moment. I wish I was able to find some items like those for my collection!

Looking back, I am glad I didn't buy anything at this show so I can save my money for the Baltimore Arms Show in March (or the Oaks extravaganza the weekend after that).

I went up there on Sunday and picked up a couple 20 rd boxes of LC69 milsurp M2 ball ammo at $0.75/rd.

It was crowded. The isles were narrow and folks were gathering in groups of 3 & 4 that just aggravated the lack of free space. Unlike other posters in this thread, I think it's great that folks meet up and spend some time being cordial at gun shows.

There were plenty of novices there. When I picked up a M1 tanker Garand and the guy next to me said "I wanted to see that, too" a younger couple shrugged "Just more used guns". ;)

Sadly, the C&R gun prices were 20% or more above their already inflated gunbroker equivalents. The Florida affect pricing certainly kept my wallet in check. Standard capacity OEM pistol mag's were selling at MSRP as well, even though they were obviously pulls.

I spent a little less than 2 hours there. I'll probably go again, but the last Gettysburg and Chantilly shows were head and shoulders above this one.

I went there Saturday Morning and it was butts-to-nuts busy. The people with backpacks didn't bug me, it was the people with strollers.

I like the show, I'll go just about every time for something to do/look at. It's worth the $8 for me.

Its funny at these shows, I don't see people walking out with boxed up rifles. Maybe I was just not looking. I don't know how often someone sells an AR at the show. I feel like I see more paperwork being written up at HoCo shows than there. It might be cause I got to the York show at 9:30 and usually don't get to Hoco show till around noon and people have made up their minds. I did see someone pick up what was I think a C&R 32 auto pistol. I was just about to ask to see it then the lady picked it up and handed it to the gentleman who just finished up his paperwork.

These shows are different things to different people. Ever watch storage wars? Some of them walk away empty handed....

+1 on saving for the Antique arms show.

I picked up a Walther Model 4 for a price I couldn't pass up, so that may have been me. Mechanically sound, but some blueing over a little pitting so not a museum piece, hence the low price.

It was the girl with the double wide stroller for her twins going up and down the aisles that made me think "did you really think was a good place to take the kids for a stroll?" :sad20:

I was there at 9:45 with no wait to get in. it didn't get crowded until 11-12:00. I picked up some mags for future gun purchase's I'm planning on and some reasonably priced ammo. A few vendors where missing that I was hoping to see but all and all a good show until it got crowded.

I don't know if one of the other buildings on the site is larger but it definitely wasn't as enjoyable as Chantilly because of how narrow the aisles were. You have 4-5 people in front of a table and it blocks the whole aisle.

Ever been to Pikesville GS? Talk about crowded aisles.
    Went once and never returned.

That show was nuts. Had to stand in line to get through the rows. My wife was with me and she went and sat in the lobby because she kept getting bumped. Couldn't see a thing. Guys walking around with little pull carts and the buttheads with backpacks on.

Went over on Saturday and it was crowded, but it wouldn't have been so bad if the aisles were wider, if someone stopped at the tables opposite each other the lane as nearly blocked. How much of a problem are the backpacks really? I understand that baby strollers or towed carts could clog up aisles, but perhaps I simply was not inconvenienced by a backpack wearer, and so did not take notice of them. Were there "hiking the appalachian trail" big backpacks, or "going to school" daypacks?

I will admit that I had a "going to school" type daypack. I bought several things and they went into the daypack, which worked because they were too big to fit in my pockets and some vendors did not offer shopping bags. Two people mentioned my backpack, and both statements were along the lines of "that is a good idea, I wish I brought one". If I was actually blocking anyone, I just needed to hear a "pardon" or "excuse me" and I would have made room. Heck, if I heard "excuse me" more than a couple times and thought the daypack was an obstacle, I would have ditched it in the car.

Gun show attendees have been bringing carry bags since gun shows started. Originally, they were shoulder "Musset" type bags, later they became day packs. These really are not the issue. The issue at York was the Obama syndrome came back after the news media started attacking gun owners and the NRA. Many people came out to stock up "just in case."

My first time attending York GS.

Overall positive experience talking to a few people on Sunday. Prices seemed a bit high but i still walked out with some ammo and a compact light for a handgun ive been eye balling.

It was my first time at the York Show too. I enjoyed it. Aisles are tight but there were a lot of great things there. I went with a friend of mine that was looking to build up his stripped lower that he had stashed away for a couple of years. I recommended parts, he bought 'em up and I walked him though his first AR-15 pistol build the following weekend. He bought his upper complete at the show too. It was his first show and he was in heaven. I knew there were around a thousand tables which is about 300 less than the Chantilly show so I knew it was going to be a good one to take him to. I walked out with an 80% AR-10 lower. I spent all of my money on parts at the past 5 gun shows that I attended this year so I had to take it easy since I need to eat more than bread and drink more than water. All in all... that show ROCKS!:party29:
