Remington must realize the 1911 market is big, they keep introducing new models.

The R1 Enhanced now comes in Stainless too:

They are also coming out with a Commander sized Carry R1

Pretty sweet looking, but I'm not a fan of stainless guns. They are too flashy for me.

too bad they kept that stupid F/O front sight.

I just got one but not the stainless. I really love the trigger and also bought a Kimber 22 conversion kit for it. THAT was a great purchase because now I can shoot the gun a lot and try to correct my flaws with cheaper ammo...,if there is such a thing now!!!

I really don t like that front sight. I am new to handguns and bought a 22 conv kit for it and shoot that regularly. When I do shoot it in 45acp and practice my draw from a holster, that front sight snags ALL the time! Do you know of cheap replacements for the gun? I wonder if a regular 1911 front sight would fit on the R1 front?

Not bad, the ones I have handled seemed pretty nice. I need a 1911, I have neglected my rightful duty to own one. :sad20:

If I am going stainless, I prefer the matte stainless finish that Dan Wesson uses, kind of a two-tone finish. I like the FO front sight, that's what I use on my target CZ's with blacked out rear sights.
