Applied today (7/6/16) and the countdown begins! Nothing like waiting for your Constitutional right to be granted back to you!

    Applied 6/20
    Passed 7/12

    Waiting on the card.

I must say being totally railed by the state for 100 dollars for a license has never been so easy!

Just went active on HQL, the questions on the HQL application seemed to be the same or atleast very similar to the atf 4473 form. If one goes active on the HQL does this mean the seven day waiting period for a handgun will be faster. Not sure if this a dumb question but if you pass the HQL shouldnt you pass the atf form 4473. Also the guy at gunshop told me that i have to fill out 7 pgs of forms. New to buying guns.

Still seems to me if you have to get this damn thing, you should get a perk or two.... say... INSTANT background checks as you have already been vetted??

You'd think so but not in The People's Republic of Maryland where it treats its law abiding citizens like criminals.
Can't wait for the day to move to a true free state where it's a NICS check and walk out with a handgun 10 minutes later.

I got mine active today suddenly. Before that, everything is unchecked except fees. It is amazing. Cheers!

If you applied before July 1 yes will have your drivers license photo. No photo it applied on or after July 1. This was just what I was told in an email from the MSP about this.

I bought everything I needed before this stupid law went into effect. The wife and daughter
also took advantage of it, so now they live in Pa. and do not have to worry about such dumb stuff.

    :crazy:Yes me too, applied 6-18 active 7-11 in mail 7-16 4pm
Still trying wrap my head around whole process. We get prescreened for getting prescreened to buy a handgun. I mean is the MSP check not as thorough as the forms at gun shop. Can someone who has bought a handgun recently please tell me the difference.
