In the current market, it is unlikely that you'll get $1500 for it. I can get a new one for that much locally.
It's in an MCS chassis, has the original stock/handguard, and comes with seven mags and the mil tools.

Maybe, maybe not. Always a market for pre ban, and most likely all GI parts which makes it more desirable to purists.

If you're truly never going to shoot it, then you should sell it for something you want, or to just get rid of an wanted gun (whatever THAT might be :D).

I vote YES. I have sold a few guns in the past year because I just didn't shoot them. I put the money towards other projects. I do not regret the decision one bit.
Having said that, I would not sell it until you know exactly where the money is going to go.

The "would you rather have $1500 or this tooled-up M1A?" question is an easy one: I'd rather have the $1500, hands-down. I don't even know what I'd buy with it instead.

IMHO (yes, that's worth every penny too :) ) this answers your poll question. It's not like selling a family heirloom, or just a more historic gun like an old Garand or something more collectible. Just a tool that you don't need/want any more, clear it out and make room for something you really do want!

If you sell it would you have it in the original stock or sell it in the chassis? Or as a package, old stock and gear with it?

Loose nut behind the buttplate! Called that one out before I even looked at the target.:sad20:

No, that was prone with sling @ 200yds. Iron sights and 60 year old eyes.:innocent0 I wish my offhand was that good!

Iron sights at 200? Damn, bro, that’s not bad at all!
