The swamp rat looks like a nice knife. Hadn't heard of them before today.
Probably junk, but it's the message
Swamp Rat are like Busse-Lite.
Busse are extremely expensive with what's supposed to be an incredible proprietary steel.
Swamp Rat is made by Busse, but uses a lesser (but still great and proprietary) steel.
I really wanted to check out a smaller model, but this one was a good bit thicker than I'd expected so I'm probably going to sell it.

Nice who makes the bottom one, I really like that one piece heavy duty utility look.

Is the bottom knife made by David Boye?
It looks like an early version of his 'basic 3' model.

It is a David Boye. I got it from Francine Etchings - Francine engraved the bear paws on it for me.
Liking this new ESEE-4 with the clip point tip ...

Not yet, but will probably happen in time as I use it more. Found the clip point very useful in opening bundled items, as one pulls back and it slices cordage easily. Have actually given myself a nasty cut with the pictured ZT 562 when closing too quickly one handed. Nearly took the tip off my thumb and was bleeding nicely.Have you cut yourself with the top section of the blade yet?
