The Resonator is a very solid can. For those who aren't familiar with this article, the testers used one .308 bolt gun and one .223 bolt gun. I believe they used the old military measurement of 1.6 meters off the ground and 1 meter offset to the left of the muzzle. No at the ear measurements. That said the side by side comparison on one day is pretty helpful.

The context is really important just so no one goes out and buys one of these expecting it to make a semi-auto rifle hearing safe. The gen 1 Resonator did very well in this testing but is a relatively high backpressure can, so at ear measurements from a gun that hasn't been tuned will likely be high.

Also Griffin Armament has been publishing silencer comparisons with their new B&K Pulse system, which measures a minimum of 3db higher (and much much higher) than the previous industry standard, the 2209. I'd give it a bit for them to get their processes 100% figured out, but it is looking like a lot of things people thought were below the 140db threshold of instant hearing damage maybe are not. The pistol can results they published late last week don't make a lot of sense unless the rounds went supersonic the majority of the time, so maybe they are still working through some processes.
