I opted not to hunt tonight, but will be out in the morning. good luck

You should come over and hunt. It's been a while. Haven't seen many big bucks, but lots of meat that feeds on corn and soy at the farm next door.

Got lucky tonight, was able to harverst large doe. Near G'burg, on friend's private property. With this heat it was tolerable on the treestand but dragging it was exhausting.

Mature doe 15yd shot. Of course she had to run 200 yards away from the field edge down hill into a gulley.

I shot one yesterday morning at 0700. Was drinkin beer and skinnin by 0800.

Small fawn, still in spots. I know...haters gonna hate, but it was injured. Besides, always wanted a spotted cape.

Much better out this morning. Still hot, but not dripping with sweat hot.

nothing wrong with a small fawn. I try to shoot one a year for steaks and chops. Nice and tender :party29:

It's already 80 degrees in my back yard. Absolutely no wind. If you can stand the skeeters, it would probably be a good day to hunt. I can't believe the number of reports with fawns still in spots. This has got to do with the hot weather we've had. I don't ever remember hearing of this many fawns in spots like this year.

I still say if you can find a trail that leads to water, you've got a good chance in this heat. They won't move for anything but water in this heat. The half moon doesn't help either. Won't get much better the closer to the full moon we get.

Good luck everyone. Be safe and that means remembering to drink water yourself while out in this heat.

Just put my trail cam out a few days ago and this beast pops up at 6:16 this morning... Had to work or it would be in my freezer right now. Also have a few 6 pointers and at least an 8 pointer or two. Can't wait to get out there.

That's almost enough to make me go out in this heat and hunt! Congratulations to you both.:)
