I came across several large wood cases of 7.62 Nato training ammo with wooden bullets. They are packed in Hebrew marked crates.

I have seen Swedish 6.5 mm wooden bullets but not 7.62 or 308 bullets.

Is this stuff rare, collectible, or safe to use?

    It is pretty cool.

The crates are cool! They are dark green! (I know, no pix, but my phone camera is not working right now).

I do not believe the Israeli round are meant to disintegrate, I think they are fine for short range target shooting practice only.

In any event, if any one is interested, there were a couple of crates left at A1 guns on Saturday. Call Greg to see if any are left.

Apparently Swedish conscripts liked to shoot each other with them, so the Swedish military added the blank shredder to go onto a threaded muzzle to make sure that the fragments disintegrated. I'd imagine they're no more dangerous than regular blanks, meaning very dangerous at close range, and harmless past a certain distance.

Without the shredder the bullets do stay intact for a while ... usually. Swedish trappers figured out that, if you were careful, the training ammo offered a really cheap way to dispatch a trapped fur animal at close range without doing much damage to the pelt.
