District 23A Candidate

Shukoor Ahmed is running as an independent candidate in District 23A.

I have talked to Shukoor over coffee and via e-mail. He impresses me as a person willing to listen to all sides of an issue.

He has my vote.

BUT... Is he committed to ANY side of the 2A issue?

All three present 23A reps voted for SB281. Many are unhappy with that. This is a chance to vote one out...period.

Ahmed is a conservative leaning former Democrat. His last run for office ran head on into the "establishment." He's running as an Independent to bring fiscal responsibility back.

I posted here rather than in the MD2A forum because his is a platform that differs greatly from those we now have in office. As a gun owner I feel the man is willing to listen to his constituents - something we desperately need.

If new blood ain't your cup of tea, continue with the status quo. You're call.

The context would have been helpul in your initial post. I'm all for new blood, as long as it's not worse than the status quo.

Since I'm in 23B I have as much choicen as the Chinese and North Koreans about who I can vote for.
