ran a box of the 405 grains thru it today on the bench to sight it in and get the feel for it... very happy with it and it's accuracy. you were right, recoil not bad at all with these, even from the bench. our range was a swamp from all the rain, so I only shot out to 50 yards this trip. I know only 50 yards, but last 4 rounds went into 3 holes so I was satisfied with this Remlin.

That's nice I mean good shooting.

78 years old and still shoots great. Love the wear. Wish it could talk.

Beautiful Model 94 (and nice pic). I have one from the 1930s (iirc). Need to take an outdoor pic of it in sunlight.

Field and Stream writer says lever action rifles are officially obsolete due to the obsession with long range shooting:

    https://www.fieldandstream.com/play-taps-for-lever-action

Reminds me of a story I read about 2 guys with high dollar custom bolt action hunting rifles who were shooting at a deer way out in some mid western field and simply kept missing. This old guy in a beat up pickup truck pulls up and asks what they are shooting at. They tell him they are shooting at the deer and can't seem to hit it. With that, the old gentleman reaches into his truck and pulls out his well worn old Winchester .30-30. No way you are going to hit that deer with a .30-30 when we can't hit it with out custom rifles they said to him. One shot from the old guys lever action .30-30 and the deer dropped where it stood.

Moral of the story, Don't mess with the old man who only has one gun, he probably knows how to use it! :D

    Here you go, echo6mike :) -

Just got it this week. Cimarron 1873 Short Deluxe. Haven't had a chance to fire it yet but I'm looking forward to it.

Beautiful rifle. I remember this one from the United thread. That price was a steal. Be careful about more potent 357 loads in 1873 mechanism lever actions (if memory serves, Cimarron gets these rifles from Uberti and resells them in the US). Stick with the regular power or mild 357 loads as well as 38 Special.

What he said!! The link in those '73's is just a small piece!! Bunny fart .357's and standard .38's will do very nicely in the rifle.
    Beautiful by the way!!

love that rifle. I have the Taylor Uberti 1873. I use Remington 38's (length is perfect), or cowboy loads like Black hills 357's. its a blast!

Be mindful of the length. too short as 38s can be will jam on the block.
Remington white/green box 38s have been a great length and shoot well.

The Black Hills 357 loads are right in light with 38s so they work really well too, and clean burning. Once in a blue moon ill shoot standard load 357, but not often.
I save them for the Henry 357 ;)

Oh, I put a skinner peep sight on it too, my eyes love that!!!

    Enjoy man!!
