    Still no luck...time to get
    a "bigger boat".

I am going to try a different machine.
Maybe this one lacks the horsepower?

    Let's see if THIS works...

That is crazy looking. I always thought the Model 13 front sights were machines into the barrel at the same time the barrel was made and that it was all one integral part?

I can't see someone having and aftermarket sight put on that is not much of an improvement over the stock sight?

    Right.
I carried one for years but never
paid attention to the front sight
except when using it for its intended
    purpose.
This sight looks the same as on my
    issue weapon.
What I did not show in the picture
    (because I wasn't sure I could figure
out how to get a second attachment
in the reply...) was the left front of the
sight where it looked like it got smacked
really well...so, I was thinking it was
dropped from a high point or smacked
hard enough to drive the sight to the
rear the length of that crazy overhang.

Turns out that was not the case.
The sight is definitely not part of the
barrel, and was not driven to the rear
    at all...just that crazy overhang...anyone
    ever seen anything like it?

If your using a mobile device try using in Tap to talk app. It is way easier to attach photos to posts. Also if your still looking I would highly recommend John leber's gunsmithing in shady side. He knows his stuff. Just dont fall for his tommy gun gag. There is also Lord calvert gunsmithing off of 231 back up behind the college. I haven't used him but I have talked to him on several occasions. There is also gigi's gunshop in port republic. Don't know anything about them but some how I managed to aquire one of their business cards.

    Thanks, Tommy Gunn...funny!
I'm not even sure whether that
    sight needs fixing...seems solid. I
haven't fired it yet to see how it
shoots. But, it surely seems odd to
have all that daylight showing between
the base of the sight and the barrel.

Curtis Miller (Precision Gun Works) can do pretty much anything. Assume he's still operating. Haven't been there in ages, which makes me a d!ck I guess, cause he's a really cool dude and only a couple of miles from me ... :o

No complaints from me and never heard any from others either. Call first ... bring dog treats.

I read good things too but I have left messages for a week, no return call or answers.i guess he's not interested in business.
Any other good So MD gunsmiths that look for business?

    Well, great!
A few of you have made some very good recommendations. And, since I am in "Cawvert", the Prince Frederick and 231 suggestions are surely close by.

    Still, the question remains, anyone
ever seen a sight like that? Wild.

Since it's intended to be just handy gun and also for fun, I am not really too concerned about it, but would like it looked at.
