I have a mess of Turk cupro-nickel jacketed bullets 1938 vintage in 8MM Mauser. Problem with this stuff is metal fouling in the bore. Swiss 7.5 uses it as well BUT look at the bullet seat, thin coat of wax. I wonder if I could achieve the same effect if I scraped it over a candle? It's all still in VG visual condition.

For maximum sealing I suggest heating it with a lighter first

The 12th edition of Cartridges of the World by Frank C. Barnes, 2009, has a good article on metal fouling the bore with early cupro-nickel jacketed .30-06 cartridges in the 1903 Springfield. The article is about five pages long. PM me if you can't find it and I will scan it and e-mail it to you.

Many thanks but instead of all that work and if you have read it just the gist of it would suffice. Is there something to clean the fouling on the market?
