As far as I can tell it has nothing to do with "your guns" but rather guns you have access to.

If you are a security guard and a company owns the gun it is going to be taken. If your wife has a gun that's in the dresser and the order is against you the gun is going to be taken.

It's not about who "owns" it it is about access to the firearm and ammo.

Its interesting that the state is assuming you are a criminal. So, by that logic, if your a criminal, you have access to anyone's guns to which you can steal.

It made no difference who one voted for this election, the results are the same, an anti gun democrat in the governors mansion

And by the end of Hogan’s second term md will be New Jersey , if we are lucky, and we 2a supporters will all either be disarmed or felons

I wish I could see it differently but hogan wants more common sense gun control and strengthening 1302 starting this session, do you think that means he’s giving us some of our rights backs?

With a veto proof majority, Hogan has nothing to do with it

Well the stories of victims being 1302’d are starting to pour in. I’m hearing all kinds of stories from acquaintances. I.E. Landlord disputes with tenants who don’t want to pay rent to simple arguments among neighbors. Sadly folks it appears the State is using this as a huge revenue generator across the board. Rights of citizens be damned. I’ve heard that law enforcement is currently being inundated with the number of Red Flag orders being called in and resources are being stretched thin. Could anyone on here confirm that?

I wonder how long before criminals start utilizing this law to their advantage. Do you think we will see criminals starting to conduct 1302 raids on unsuspecting citizens in order to steal guns? It’s bad enough that law enforcement is carrying out these unconstitutional orders wait till criminals start using it to their advantage. Now you have to fear both! Is this how it’s supposed to be???

I am so tired of hearing this.
I' m not directing this at you specifically but this is wrong. Hogan can be a good Rino and sign everything the legislature sends him with a big ole smile on his face and lots of people around him or he can Veto bad legislation and explain his reason why. Sure the Dems have an easy override but he can be up in the camera every time giving reasons why this is just an infringement and an attempt to make otherwise law abiding citizens into criminals without doing a thing to address the problem of real crime.
    IF HE WANTED TO.
And for the record I voted for him both times

It is nearly the same situation as the British regulars coming to Lexington to seize their guns. Except I don’t think the regulars used “don’t blame us blame the king” as their battle cry.

Plus British magistrates who held any colonist in total contempt, were still more fair and impartial than any MD signing an ERPO.

Hogan has a lot to do with it

Just as he asked for the bumpstock confiscation law and the 1302 confiscation law he will ask for magazine confiscation and “ ghost gun” confiscation

How is this a revenue generator for the state? There is literally nothing in this law that would generate any revenue for the state in any way.

I’ve heard that law enforcement is currently being inundated with the number of Red Flag orders being called in and resources are being stretched thin. Could anyone on here confirm that?

What's your source for all of that? Who have you heard these things from? Do you have any specifics?

Just heard on the radio this morning a case where a wife ERPO'd her husband. He then retaliated by hiring a hit man to make her look like a terrorist. Anyone else hear about that?

Not ERPO'd. This happened last year. The husband was sentenced yesterday. She got a protective order on him, since there were no ERPO at the time, that wasn't used.

There's a mention in the Steak & Shake thread ... the criminal complaint is available at the bottom of the linked Patch article.

As noted, it wasn't an ERPO, but in today's climate it probably would have been. (Not sure what good that would have done, as the story doesn't reference Mr. Ahmad owning firearms.)

    And who “loves” Hogan? :sad20:

I don’t believe anyone here does. I’ve said several times that I don’t care for his politics on the subject of 2A. But that the idea of seeing socialism take a win in this state was a much worse problem.

Except that the MGA will come up with these laws regardless of whether Hogan asks for it or not. They simply don’t care. Do you think they give of crap what he asks for or doesn’t? They’ve overridden EVERY one of his vetoes.
Do I wish he would stand up for gun owners and fight the MGA on every gun law? Absolutely.
I’m not sure we will EVER have a governor who would do that unless he lies about his position. He would never get elected in the first place.
