I would think about that. Your lube on a BP cartridge keeps the fouling soft. If you shoot powder coated bullets, your bore can get fouled really fast.

I shoot a lot of BPCR silhouette using Hi-walls in 40-65...45-70 and 45-90.
After a few rounds have been fired lube is irrelevant, it dries up fast without moisture.
I have shot hundreds of powder coated bullets goofing around in my single shots and levers with black powder, Shooting multiple shots with either bore riding nose or smaller nose bullets a blow tube between rounds becomes necessary after 2 to 3 rounds fired with powder coated or black powder lubed bullets, without running a wet swabb and dry patch down the barrel to clean between shots. And thats with enough lube to coat and run down the barrels crown.
. Some guys shoot a bore pig between shots if the match director will allow them.

Its also tough to get a thin reasonably consistent coat with 400 plus grain bullets with powder coating using the shaker method.

I went to the powderbuythepound.com site to check it out. They have a deal now called the spring mystery box. It’s 10 pounds of powder, their choice of colors, for $20 plus shipping. Total was $33.31

I figure at that price I can deal with whatever funky colors are included...

My order just came in! Going to be a lot of pink bullets, going down range,
I think I might be able to make some pretty cool combinations with these and the powder I have on hand.

Mine arrived as well but I’m away for the weekend. What other colors? I hope it’s not 5lbs green and 5lbs pink...

Green is one coat, pink is two coats.

Third pic is tumbled mix equal parts pink and green.

Fourth pic is same but used lacquer thinner to dissolve and stir onto the bullets.

They look awesome! Hopefully today I will get to use some of this new powder coating myself. Not sure what color combo or straight color I’m going with yet. I only have a small batch of 4570 bullets to do.

I gave up looking to make pretty bullets, it just isn't in my stars. They shoot well and don't take as long to do as the traditional lube process so I am happy.

I don’t powder coat everything I cast but I’m doing more and more of it. Not all of mine are pretty, some are downright ugly, but they all do shoot great!

Trying to make them pretty is just another challenge for me. I like to tinker with stuff like this.

I don’t worry too much about how they look either, but if you’re goin pink, go all the way!! LOL

Here’s one coat vs two coats...

1st time trying to mix two colors. I’ve always just flicked another color on top of another to get a different/ desired look.
For a 1st attempt, I’m very happy with the results. I did these in two small batches, and learned the 2nd batch comes out looking different than the 1st batch. Both look good, to me.
The bullets are a 330 grain hollow point 45-70 bullet., that I plan on using for deer hunting. I went with black and green to make the bullets camouflaged so the deer wouldn’t see it coming.

You guys make this look easy. I did try some PC once and I failed miserably. I think I just did not know what I was doing. I could not get a good coating on them with the tupperware bin method.
