Does anybody know details on the trade ins. Can it be any junk rod or reel for the trade in or does it have to be rod And reel for trade in?

Discount gets nicer at $150 and on. For me I would not mind getting a st Croix mojo surf rod. I think it’s like 200 or around there. But with a trade of $40 off $200-249 so it’s like 160. Which is really good, I think?

    Dang you BassPro!!!

Just a heads up for others that might want to get get fishing rod reel for self or kids

They will take anything that appears to be working. The catch is, you can only turn in either one reel or one rod and the rebate is calculated on what you buy, not what kind of turn in you have.

My boy just turned 3 this month. For christmas I got him a spinning reel (kids spiderman) with a rubber fish shaped weight. We have been practicing casting pretty much every day. When I come home from work, he asks me "can we go fishing tonight" and we practice. When he first started, he'd push the button and the "lure" would fall at his feet. He'd get all tangled in the line. All kind of funny stuff. But he kept doing it and now can consistently cast. We have a trip to a cabin next month, going to get some fishing in at that time. Man this is so fun. I get to do all that kid stuff all over again and teach my boy at the same time. What a blast.

The bass pro thread "lured me in" mainly cause he loves going there. He likes the stuffed bear, deer, fishtank etc....

It will probably never happen again but I picked up one of my St. Croix at Angler's for about half price. They were getting rid of stuff that wasn't selling to their clientele. it may or may not be worth checking out. If you have trade in and can get a discount at BP, I would take advantage of that.

I turned in a rod & reel combo and got two tickets. The two guys behind me had a half dozen rods and a couple of reels each. They got tickets for them all.

You can also stack coupons on a single sale of multiple items, but you can only apply one ticket per individual item. For instance one coupon can go for a rod, another for a reel. But combo items don't count, i.e. if you buy a complete rod & reel set that has a single UPC, the coupons won't work.

BTW I have an extra/unused coupon if anyone wants it. PM me if interested but first come first served.
