And here I've been beating them to death all this time...
BTW, what's the difference between a 17L and a 34? Is it just that the 34 is ported?
G17L is a 6" barrel G17 - same-same except barrel length.
G34 is a 5" barrel G17 PLUS 3.5lb connector for a "better" trigger pull PLUS extended mag and slide releases PLUS adj rear sights.
The difference is the G17L has a longer barrel but the G34 has "competition" parts.
BTW a G35 is a G34 in 40S&W and a G24 is a 6" barrel version of the G22 in 40S&W or a 40S&W version of the G17L.
G17L's and G24's have a home in USPSA shooting Limited and Limited 10 as minor and major calibers respectively. G34's are pretty common (IMHO second only to G17's) in IDPA but not as common in USPSA except in Production. G35's are less common in IDPA but more so in USPSA.
I've seen factory versions of the G24 that is ported (good base to build and Unlimited USPSA gun) but I've not seen factory ported version of the G34/35 or the G17L. They may exist but I've not seen one. I suspect aftermarket ported barrels can be had.
Clear a mud?
The G17L also come with what used to be called a 3.5 lb connector. Glock no longer calls it a 3.5 lb connector and renamed it to a 4.5 lb connector.
Both come with adjustable sights and extended mag release buttons.
The 34 comes with an extended slide stop lever, the 17L has the standard lever.
I was told in Glock armorers school that Glock produces runs of 1500 G17L's every three years.
Here's my G17L and G26.
There's alot more Glock Porn in this thread: http://www.mdshooters.com/showthread.php?t=13640
I did not know the G17L had the "3.5lb" connector, adj sights, and extended mag release but I should have known that, my G24 has all that.
1500/3 years would explain the "rarity". How about the G35 / G35 / G24? any production numbers there?
Thanks,
What sights are those on the G26? The front looks like Heinies, but the back don't...

They are Meprolights part #10226 for Glock G26/G27. The extend the sight radius a little and are snag free. I have a green front/orange rear.
Mine came with the extended slide stop out of the box. Bought it two years ago from Continental brand new.
Can you drop a 10mm 6" barrel into a model 34?
