Does anyone have experience on the Briley - Benelli M4 one shot magazine extension?

The part replaces the factory magazine cap on 922 compliant 7-round magazine equipped m4’s . Increases the mag capacity to 8-rounds.

    Is it worth the trouble?

    Thanks.

They are awesome. Overbuilt. Used a lot for hunting snowgoose when a plug isn’t required

The Briley m4 one shot mag extension came in this afternoon.

The part is very well built . It’s replaces the magazine cap on 7-shot m4’s.

Installation was straight forward. I removed end cap and the mag spring retainer( needle nose pliers ) to make up a little bit more space. Screwed on the mag extension.

There is no need to cut the magazine spring.

The mag extension protrudes beyond the muzzle. Briley should have crenellated the cap to serve as a stand-off.

It looks okay with a breaching choke.

The mag extension is still a tad longer than the Carlson tactical choke. But it’s okay for now.

With the mag extension installed. The M4 is now capable of holding 8-2 3/4” shells or 7 -3” shells in the tube mag. Add to that one in the chamber and one ghost loaded brings 10 rounds on tap.

Shotguns are generally low capacity weapons. Any enhancements to increase capacity is always a good thing.

What kind of sling are you using on the collapsible stock model?

SCAR - if I wanted one of these on the S4 I'd need to swap in the 7 round magazine tube and them add this to the end correct?

    Here’s what I did:

Kept the original 5 round tube
Took off the faux mag extension
Installed a KZ ( Benelli copy) 2 round extension on the 5- round tube.
Reuse the mag spring. ( you must take out the mag spring retainer on the original tube )

Then substitute the Briley one shot extension for the original magazine cap.

Again, you are responsible for 922 R compliance. ( for me , I replaced the stock, handguard, follower=3 US made parts).

This brings the tube capacity to 8- rounds. Plus 2

You can replace the mag tube with a full length 7 round tube. But those are very pricey. I went the cheap route on a budget build.

Barrel is removable over the KZ or would it need to be removed to disassemble?

Another advantage of keeping the original 5-shot tube is if you want to SBS the darn thing.

A 14” entry barrel assembly can be swapped out for the 18.5” barrel. Same spring and magazine cap. The you have an “ entry SBS” ( with the required tax stamp of course. )

An SBS M4 would be fun. No way I'd spend the stamp on the S4 knock off though.
