Just returned from the Easton show. Said to say, it is a shadow of itself. There were maybe half the vendors there and the largest dealers were selling AR's and tactical shotguns. There are Winchester and Colt collectables but their prices make you think they are made of gold.

A couple local guys in there told me they sold a lot of their stuff last night.
Dude in the back had two real deal decoys for sale + a couple others.
Seen old Paul the armorer who told me he’s selling like he’s been for the past 20 years and a couple others there.
Just left and went to Arby’s.

It's not "The Easton Show",, It's every show.
It has been a very, very long time since I have been to a gun show before this fall.
In the last month I went to a few shows,, MD and VA,, They are all the same and a waste of time - UNLESS you are a MD resident specifically looking to by standard cap mags and you have NO other way to obtain them.

Or if you are into Ammo that was on Bass Pro's shelf 4 hours prior for 1/2 the price. Or you are into Blue, Gold, Red or Silver anodized alum "China" parts for your AR.

I went with a friend the last few months:
I was specifically looking for 70s-90s Ruger and Marlin rifles (nothing) and Ammo.(crazy prices)
He was looking for mid grade AR Parts/Barrels, etc. 90% of the AR stuff was "Bear Creek" level or lower for literally twice the price.
Shows used to be were you bought stuff on "show specials",, these days the specials are only special for the seller.

I went. Thought it was decent. 2 non gun tables…knives, butane stoves and bungee cords. Many interesting guns, some decent prices. Collectors showing their wares, some nice colt SAAs, 1st gen. Prices okay. Old fishing lures, expensive ammo (molly’s selling primers at $150/1,000). Some nice cap and ball colts. Had to look a bit to find some of the items. Some wwIi jap. rifles, some at bery good prices. I drove about 40 min, thought it was worth while. Stayed 1.5 hrs. Just about only person wearing a mask.

I concur with your assessment. While not as good as in the past, it was certainly decent compared to most other shows that aren't. Nearly went for a 20 ga 3" mag SKB O/U that looked very nice and included the box. Saw one vendor with some ,FN soft point PMC 30-30 for 30 bucks. That's less than most places. On the other hand, quite a few had prices elevated. I saw one probably 40 year old box of 303 Savage Ammo. I expected a high price, but not 100 bucks. I left it sitting. I'll reload instead.

They did have a dealer doing transfers for 30 bucks. This show used to be great for C&R, but because nothing got my attention, I can't speak to how useful a C&R would be here. Long C&R guns can only be exchanged between C&R holders and I didn't get into asking anyone if they had one.

I’ll probably drive over tomorrow to go. Just for something to do. I have a friend set up and going to support him a bit or at least try to
