Who are you hunting with down there. I've contacted a few of them and have yet to hear back from anyone, and they all seem to have pretty mixed reviews online.

My buddy has a plantation in SC and I helped him with hog & deer (doe) control, I bet I killed well over 500 hogs and at least 100 does in 4 years.

There is a self guided outfit in Smithfield and last I saw it was 100/night with onsite camping. With hog hunting here in the South, you need to pay attention to the weather. Hogs are most active after wet weather, if it's been dry then the hogs don't move. If you see it has been drought conditions then the hunting will be terrible, if it's been wet then your chances are much better.

Y’all stay safe in Fayettnam.

Something to consider with thermals. You spend a fair amount of time scanning and not much time shooting. The closer the weight is to you, the easier it is to hold steady and shoot over time. I put my FLIR on my Tavor for just that reason.

It ain’t much weight until you haul it around a while and hold it up for a while. Then the magic happens...it gets heavier.
