Regulate - $5 AOW 30 days to disapprove! 60 days on any other regulated item!

If suppressor don’t go through as simple 4473 and the stocks are to go through ATF I can imagine approval times going to 2 years.

Now is the perfect time to extract a major objective from the Dems.

    Want to regulate bump stocks?

    Give us National Reciprocity

    don't want to?

    no deal then
The question is who actually has the Authority to make a deal like that on the GOP side in Congress. None of the leadership in House or Senate have enough control over their own caucuses anymore to negotiate on their behalf and have any guarantee that the deal developed will be passed by their own side.

well, we are only 6 cosponsors short for a House majority. The House is not the problem

As usual, the fly in the ointment is the Senate with only 38 cosponsors. Guess useless Mitch and chief libtard Chucky would need to make a deal.

If the bump stock bill moves forward, then likely it'll be opened up to amendments, which this could be one. They don't necessarily need Chucky's blessing; only need 8 senate Dems (and there are that many up in red states in 2018).

Would it be a bad idea to throw into the bump bill something asking all states to report prohibited peopleto the nics check atf list. I don’t think this is done as a nation and may help anti’s feelings and have them realize the current laws are not used correctly ... and shows the nra wants to help. ICBWrong Waiting to see what NRA has up their sleeve if anything.

Right. Collins or Murkowski will suddenly become champions of "state's rights."

Generally, bills need to move through committee first, in both House and Senate. All that's needed in committee to amend is simple majority vote, which R's have. Sort of. When they're not fighting among themselves, anyway.

R's could also amend the bump stock language to the SHARE Act instead of making it a standalone bill.
House could amend SHARE via Floor amendment, Senate's version is still in committee where cloture doesn't apply and simple majority could amend.

I have long been done with the inept GOP "leadership" if that is what anyone wants to call it! I am tired of waiting for the GOP to grow little tiny weeny balls!
Are the people who fund them therefore commanding them and the K Street folks who also command them similarly tired of them? Is what they want the same as what you want?

    No changes

    HR 38
    212 cosponsors

    S446
    38 cosponsors

Do you think this now has any chance after Las Vegas? I'd like to think the Republicans would continue the course, but I doubt they have the stomach for it.

Shame, this should have been the year we got it.

no idea. A rational person would not make a connection, because there is none.

But look who we're dealing with.

This is exactly what concerns me. It would seem that it has lost all favor in congress. With the ATF stepping back on the reclassification of the bump stocks, I see no correlation for them to consider.

My biggest concern is that the R's will deny all pro 2A bills going forward.

No need for a vote if they won't get the bills out of committee.

Since permit holders commit less than 1% of gun crimes, how does extending reciprocity result in more crime?

Same old liberal hysterics that have no basis in fact.

    blah blah blah.

I wonder why they are putting so much effort into derailing a train that hasn't even left the station and may never leave.
Unless they know something we dont.

It's just that they are doing what have been told to do by their handlers and financial gods. This is nothing more than the Socialist elite trying to flex their muscles again. If congress allows them to succeed, we know where their loyalties lie.

My God, is there not a backbone in any Republican other than President Trump in Washington DC? The table has been set. All they have to do is serve the food. How easy can it be?

    CCRKBA gives Hudson Award:

REP. RICHARD HUDSON HONORED WITH ‘LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR’ AWARD

BELLEVUE, WA – Republican Congressman Richard Hudson has been honored by the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms as the 2017 “Gun Rights Legislator of the Year,” during this year’s Gun Rights Policy Conference in Dallas, Texas.

Congressman Hudson, who represents North Carolina’s 8th District, is sponsor of the proposed Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017. If passed, it would protect the rights of more than 16.5 million legally-licensed private citizens who have qualified under their states’ laws to carry a firearm for personal protection.

While Rep. Hudson was not able to attend the conference, he was honored by CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, who recognizes the significance of the congressman’s proposed law.

“National reciprocity is an idea whose time has come,” Gottlieb said. “We were impressed when Congressman Hudson introduced the legislation earlier this year, and we know that millions of law-abiding gun owners across the country are hopeful it will pass.”

Under provisions of the proposed Act, legally-licensed or permitted citizens would be able to carry their sidearms in other states, in accordance with the laws of those states, without fear of prosecution.

“There are now 212 co-sponsors who have signed onto Hudson’s legislation,” Gottlieb noted. “That speaks volumes about the importance of this measure in all corners of the nation. Since the Second Amendment was incorporated to the states via the 2010 Supreme Court ruling in McDonald v. City of Chicago, there has been growing interest in reciprocity legislation, and no rational excuse for it not becoming law.

“We can think of no better recipient of this award than Rep. Hudson,” he concluded. “National reciprocity would help reinforce the Second Amendment as the cornerstone of the Bill of Rights.”
