It was flying directly overhead while I was in Windsor Mill today. White blimp with "U. S. NAVY" in huge letters on the side.

It passed just south of Eldersburg, headed east, about 10-15 minutes ago.

At least we don't have to put up with an annoying low flying prop plane like that one town when they were being "mapped"

I've seen it around SW Carroll county several times over the last 4 days.

Saw the same blimp at the airport in Edgewater last summer. I was at the drive through window for one of the fast food restaurants when it buzzed just over the building and Rt. 2 to land at the airport.

    I'm still very curious...

    Why here?
    Why now?
    Why be obvious?
    Why not satellite?

Last summer, it was the fly-throughs for Air Quality Sampling (we think). Spring 2012 (IIRC), it was nighttime criss-crossing of the area by mid-level planes. Three years running, there have been small "DC School buses" circuiting the Beltway.

I'm not a tinfoil fan (other than for my bakey taters), but it's not looking good.

you're all wrong, it's got instruments on it to measure your brain waves. When it measures an area of mostly theta waves, notes are made that it is over a heavily liberal area that can be used for gerrymandering.
