    IDPA Shooters

The first TCSC (Thurmont) IDPA match of the season will be Tuesday 19 March. Class for new shooters begins in the clubhouse at 12:00, match begins at 2:00.

There are 8 short stages (from 4-10 rounds each) with a total round count that is modest (48 rounds minimum). We kept the round count modest given the current scarcity and cost of ammunition. Although the individual stages are short, a majority have been taken from sanctioned IDPA matches so we believe you will find them challenging. Distances are modest. Everything is within 21 feet -- so if you have been waiting for a change to use a real carry gun, this may be your opportunity. But note there will be some precision shots so it is not simply a spray and pray match.

    Fee is $15
Arrive at 1:30 for registration if you plan only to shoot.
If you arrive at 12:30 help to set up, and stay afterward to tear down and put away, fee is reduced by $5
If you are an IDPA SO and can run a squad, and we can use you, that will also reduce your fee by $5 (cumulative)

If you plan to attend please email PETE HOFFMAN (hoffdance@aol.com) with:
    1. Your name
    2. If you are an SO ( "SO - yes/no")
    3. If you will be coming early and staying afterward to help with set-up/tear-down ("Set-up/Tear-down -yes, no")

Why would you have an IDPA match during the week in the middle of the day ?

I believe its a leftover from the original match director and his schedule years ago. Something about being a farrier and workdays. While odd, a number of people appreciate the timing and work their days off around it to shoot.

New Shooter Class Mandatory for those who have not shot at TCSC IDPA before

The new shooter class is being held on Tuesday 3/19. It is mandatory for those who have not shot TCSC IDPA before (even if you have shot IDPA somewhere else).

We want everyone to pre-register for the match (both new shooters and old shooters)because it tells us how many new shooters we have, how many SOs we have, and and how many squads we need.

To pre-register for the match, send an email to Hoffdance@aol.com answering the questions listed in the first post under this thread.

    Today's TCSC IDPA Match

    1) The match for today is ON. However, there has been a lot of precipitation and the area is wet and muddy. You might want to consider wearing water-proof boots or shoes, and bringing a bag for your dirty shoes and clean pair to change in to for the ride home. Chip Hammond.

    2) Only 1 slot remains open for this match. We have 27 shooters registered. We will have 4 squads with a maximum of 7 shooters per squad (28 shooters total). If you want this slot, email Hoffdance@aol.com to register. You will receive a confirmation by email. You are registered when you receive this email confirmation. If we reach 28 shooters, we will not be able to accept any additional walk-ons at this match because – if we have more than 28 shooters -- we risk not be able to finish the COF in time for the scheduled TCSC Trap match that follows our match.

Fun match today! The weather was pleasant and the stages were innovative and easy on ammo stashes.

Thanks to all involved with set up, tear down, planning and educating the new shooters!
