I’ve never been a fan of the stock Evo pistol HG with its angled front, but otherwise it’s a fantastic weapon. Wanting to keep the entire exterior polymer I passed on the Midwest and other available options. I had pretty much settled on keeping the factory HG and just living with it until I saw the new drop in unit of HBI. It’s a direct fit drop in polymer replacement and uses the factory hardware. So I ordered up the FDE unit and it arrived today. The install is simple and easy, except for the factory barrel nut. I’m not exactly sure my CZ hates us enough to install so much loctite on something that only holds on a polymer HG, but if yours is as bad as mine you’ll need a heat gun or torch to get that mf’er off. Once it’s off however it only takes about 5 minutes to make the swap. The finished product is clean and IMHO greatly improves the look and feel of the weapon.
